You Shall Not Pass!

In Sancerre we had to choose a route to our accommodation. If we stayed on the cycle path, it would be 4 km longer than going directly. So we decided to take the shorter route. And the rain had stopped. Well, at least we hoped it had.

It started quite well, but then it did start to rain again and, as we were leaving to floor of the valley, it was hilly.

I can normally rely on OsmAnd to find good, quiet routes through cities, and this was no different. Until we got to this roundabout where we told to take the third exit. But it doesn't exist anymore! So we spent a few minutes in the rain next to the motorway deciding what to do next. And the next half hour going through various industrial estates on our way. I even spent five minutes in the middle of a field before I decided this wasn't doable. But we got there in the end.

But I just checked the route with another app and it also thinks you can use this road that doesn't exist.
