The Tour's Key Metrics
Apart from cycling to station in Nantes tomorrow, and from the station in Nevers, the cycling is over.
A little over 500 km in total. Certainly too ambitious at the start, but I think we were all getting into our stride towards the end of the tour. The weather wasn't as good as it could have been - September is supposed to be one of the drier months - but not as bad as we sometimes suspected. We only had one real downpour while on the road and that was on our first day. After that, plenty of threatening clouds, but only a couple of showers.
Yesterday's rain has been and gone so we can look forward to sightseeing in the sunshine in Nantes today.
We've still got to negotiate our way to Nevers by train tunnels tomorrow, changing at Orleans and then Bourges, before picking up the car and heading straight for Dijon, hopefully before the restaurants close!
So still plenty of excitement but hopefully a minimum number of difficulties!🤔😀
