I'm waiting for my train

We got to the station in plenty of time in order to try and figure out how to get our bikes to the platform properly. When we arrived on Saturday we just used the lifts, but apparently you're not allowed to.

However, the platform for our train was not posted. I went exploring: there is no information point and no signs. But there is a ramp down and from the subway there are ramps up to some platforms, and rails on the stairs for others. But we'd rather not!

So, back to waiting in the entrance hall, looking up hopefully every now and then to see if the platform has appeared.

Needing a change of scene, we head down the ramp to join other cyclists in solidarity looking up at the screens. And then suddenly the platform 52 appears!

In Germany platform 52 would probably be at end of platform 5, but here it's next to platform 1. More importantly, and practically, there's a ramp!😀

I was expecting a train with wagons dedicated to bikes, but that doesn't seem to be the case, but there are plenty of spaces for bikes where you just have to lift the front wheel into a little holder.

Bags removed and it's into a compartment designed for hobbits. But we've got seats, and can keep an eye on the bikes and the train is on time.

Stage 1 completed!
